Since 1992 the ROMAI society organizes, in partnership with universities and research institutes from Romania and Republic of Moldova, an annual international conference on applied and industrial mathematics - CAIM series.
CAIM series provides a forum for the review of the recent trends in applied and industrial mathematics either from a qualitative or from a numerical point of view. A special section of the conference is dedicated to the mathematical teaching.

The Society's activity is managed hierarchically by the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Office, respectively.The Board of Directors implements the decisions of the General Assembly and manages the society's activity between its sessions.
The Executive Office, the executive component of the Board of Directors, performs the tasks assigned to it in the periods between sessions of the Board of Directors, represents the Society in relations with other institutions, companies, organizations and individuals, nationally and internationally, and is composed as follows: one president, four vice-presidents, one secretary and one treasurer.

ADELINA GEORGESCU Applied Mathematics Award
The award is intended to promote outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics, especially applied mathematics, obtained by young mathematicians from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The award, offered by the family of Adelina Georgescu and ROMAI, is granted annually, through a competition.

"Born on April 25, 1942 in Turnu Severin, Romania, she lost her mother
at the age of two and was subsequently raised by her grandparents in Cas-
tranova. She began her schooling in Caracal and also graduated from an all-
girls’ high school in the same town. Between 1960 and 1965 she continued her
studies in mathematics at the University of Bucharest. Here she benefited
from the instruction of famous professors such as Victor Vâlcovici, Miron
Nicolescu, Grigore Moisil, Gheorghe Vranceanu, Solomon Marcus, and Caius
Iacob. Under the latter’s guidance she completed her degree and earned her
