Romanian mathematicians

The Romanian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (ROMAI), Mathematical Society of the Republic Moldova, Tiraspol State University, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Moldova State University, Academy of Economical Studies of Moldova announce the organization of the 20th Conference on Applied and Industrial Mathematics - CAIM 2012. The Conference will be held in Chisinau, between the 22 and the 25 of August, 2012 and it is dedicated to academician Mitrofan M. Cioban. ROMAI was founded in 1992. It is a non-profit scientific association whose members are mathematicians, physicists, engineers, biologists, economists, and other scientists from Romania, Republic of Moldova and some other countries. ROMAI encourages and promotes studies on applied mathematics and organizes annually, since 1993, the Conference on Applied and Industrial Mathematics (CAIM).

Chisinau is the capital and largest minicipality of Moldova. It is also its main industrial and commercial centre and is located in the middle of the country, on the river Bîc. According to the January 2012 official estimates, Chisinau has a population of 800,000 persons and the municipality of Chisinau has 1,000,000 residents recorded.
